Saturday, October 9, 2021. Stormy weathers

Thisʻll be brief.  Headed to the leeward side for a couple nights.  Back here Tuesday.

The weather!  Hot sunny one day, then wind-blown torrents and swirls.  So it goes.  Mayhaps not a great time to be exposed on Kīlauea heights.

Below, a stunner by Janice Wei, at Volcano House, 3a, September 30, 2021.  Note the stars, courtesy a 4sec exposure!

This morning at 734,

Then a wave of rainfog... We know that weathers are changeably whimsical.  If a visit is on the itinerary this weekend, please come prepared.  At 848 this morning...Look REAL good...

Good thing for the F1 Thermal cam.  One vent at play, much of the papa loko ahi (lava lake crust) is coolish.

And yesterdayʻs HVO update:

Māhu, including sulphur dioxide decreasing, an indication, perhaps, of decreased output.

We shall see.

Till next time,
